JOHN MOORHOUSE

(1794-1825)

John Moorhouse was the third child of John Moorhouse (1762-1838) and the first son. He was baptised under his Latin name of Joannes on the 21 December 1794 at Broughton Hall Chapel.

Three of his sisters [Mary, Alice and Ellen Bolton] died in 1815 from typhus fever and are buried at All Saints Church, Elslack.

At the time of his death on 17th September 1825 aged 29 he was living with his parents and farming Small House Farm [rented from the Tempest Estate, for details see Places/Tempest Estate]. He is buried with his parents at All Saints Church next to his sisters, [for details of the graves see Places/All Saints Church].
